Christina's High School Graduation -- May 24, 2006

Left to right: Middle daughter Carissa, me, Christina, my sister Jan, Camille my oldest who lives in Germany.

On Wednesday night May 24th, Christina graduated from Ironwood Ridge High School. Christina had had 5 spinal surgeries (two on one day!) over a 4 year period. Amazingly she was able to keep up and graduate with her classmates. Her uncomplaining nature and determination through several years of surgery and recovery have truly been inspiring.

Our celebration was made even more special by my dad and sister coming from Arkansas, and Camille coming from Germany for the week! Posted by Picasa

Congratulations to Christina on her graduation!

Dale, you must be so proud! But lonely now that they're all gone. I'm sure you'll find ways to fill the space with old and new friends and activities. God has truly gifted you with lovely daughters who are now able to spread their wings and fly like eagles. God gave you the grace to raise them to be able to that. He will also give you comfort in those times when you will miss them.

G'nite Dale,

My sincere ongratulations to Christina on her achievements and graduation from high school. Not an easy time from all accounts, but she has hung in there and made it through.

A tribute to all of your family for being there for each other and may God continue to bless each and everyone of you.

Your "wee one" Christina brings new appreciation of:
"You don't have to be big to be brave"
What a shining star.....just imagine the places she will go!!!!!!
She gathered tools and learned from the best.......her Papa!!
Be so very proud!
I am so very happy for you and yours!

Dear Suzan, Leslie, Showgirl, Enid, and Cheryl,

Thanks so much for your comments. It was a wonderful time seeing Christina walk across the field to graduate.

Suzan, how cool that you had a Papaw too! LOL... I'm not really sure where it came from. I can't recall grandparents on either my side nor my ex's being referred to as Papaw.

I still have the two younger daughters here for the summer, Leslie. I'm already aware that it's going to be veeeeery empty in the house come late August. :-(

Showgirl, I was very aware that night that it could be a very long time till I have all three daughters together again for such a happy event. The whole week with my three daughters and dad and sister was a very special time for us all. by the way... is there another name besides, Showgirl?

Thanks for the kind words Enid. Christina overcame some huge obstacles to graduate with her friends. Would you believe she's the only one of my daughters who's NOT been to Belize?

Cheryl, I AM so very proud as you put it. Thank you for sharing in our happiness.

It's really neat that you and Leslie both got to meet Christina in February. That was a special and fun time having you two and the other ladies here.

The welcome mat's still out if anyone wants to stop by for a meal!

ciao y'all,

Dale
