Carissa's 21st Birthday

Today was Carissa's 21st birthday! In the days leading up to today, it just seemed like one more birthday coming--a milestone, to be sure--but this morning as I woke, I lay in bed with the realization that this too is one more very significant transition during a time filled with them.

Tonight we went to Mi Tierra, a local favorite Mexican restaurant, to celebrate. After dinner, they put a hat on her and seranaded her!

Then later we had the waitress take a picture of the three of us.

It was a fun time to be with Carissa, and Christina!

Hi Dale,
Your two daughters are beautiful...How wonderful that the three of your were together for Christina's 21st birthday. I love good Mexican food...my son-in-law is mexican and his mother cooks up lots of good stuff for us...then I invite them over for Italian and German food which she loves. Thanks for sharing your pics and have a great weekend.

Thanks everyone for taking a peek. Camille, I think that was one of those "I'm enjoying this, but I don't want to look like I'm enjoying it too much" looks.

later all,
Dale

Thank you Ellen, it was a good birthday. I worked at a job I love, and later spent the evening having dinner and watching a movie with my two youngest daughters... And of course, I got a phone call from Camille in the morning!!!!!

we really learn to savor those special moments, knowing either our children are growing up and will one day move away, or have already grown up and moved away. but we always have the memories--thru pics and within ourselves to look back and reminiscence.
